Kristi's Country Store Grand Opening

It was a beautiful day for a grand opening. The weather was sunny and a warm 64 degrees in Sumner, Washington; quite unusual for early February. It was hard to believe that just two weeks ago we were covered with ice and snow. I grew up in Sumner so I was really excited when Kristi contacted me to consider selling my items in her store. Sumner has quite a few unique shops along main street and you can spend many hours wandering through them all.

Kristi's Country Store is a unique collection of old and new. Kristi describes her store as "A humble hodgepodge of antiques, vintage finds, gifts, and home decor". Kristi's goal was to include upcycled, fairly traded, locally made, and handmade items. I think the layout of her store hit the mark quite well. I stopped by about an hour after she had opened and the store was very busy. Congratulations on a great opening Kristi.

Wow what a storm! We here in the Pacific Northwest haven't seen anything like this in many years. It started with 10 inches of snow on Wednesday and Thursday then ended with an ice storm. The the ice on my car is about an inch thick. The tree blocking the driveway usually stands straight up. The big tree was pretty much shattered. Luckily through this I didn't lose power and I didn't suffer any structural damage.
